Our story

We all want to write our life story, but what if we simply began living out the story that was there all along? The best way to know how EK Designs Co. started is to go back to the beginning.

I grew up in a home where Nancy Myers and Meg Ryan starred on Friday and Saturday nights, Frank Sinatra played in the background of a cozy bubble bath, and Bonnie Rait and George Strait performed on the disc player that we still use today. I vacationed in New York City neighborhoods where families walked the streets and boutiques boasted the most inviting store windows. It all seemed so romantic and beautiful.

I’ve always enjoyed adding just a “little bit extra” to make everyday experiences feel like magic. My love for design and creating with my hands goes back as far as I can remember. In college, I got the opportunity to work in a floral shop where twinkle lights flickered, and creating arrangements and displays was the job description. After college, I was fortunate enough to manage a local floral shop that I came close to purchasing. Then came 2020… when everything became unpredictable, I fell back on my degree and went into teaching. Again, I loved it. My passion for education, children, and relationships with my colleagues was so much fun.

Then my husband and I found out we were having a daughter.

That’s where EK Designs Co. came to be. After having Eloise Kate, my passion for my career began to take a different shape. I wanted to be home with her, and a very clear vision for this business began to unfold. I realized that God had a bigger picture in mind all along and the events of my life began to set the stage for what would become EK Designs Co. This is a place for big and small dreams to come to life. Need flowers for a friend? Maybe florals for a wedding or baby shower? We do that! Lastly, we specialize in design for events and spaces in your home or business. At EK Designs Co. we believe beautiful things shouldn’t just be for people who want to spend a lot. It’s for everyone! That’s why we have cut out the middleman and overhead costs, which allows us to serve any budget. We specialize in strategic design that helps us to serve you.
